Author: nsrayman

you gotta love the style of the GP9 & GP18 , here is GP18 949 sitting stored in Radford , Va back in 1990. there was all kinds of GP9`s , GP 18`s , GP35`s , SD45`s stored there then. It was a cloudy and rainy day but I`m glad I took their pictures.

Why was Radford always a storage point for engines? There was no shop close by. But it always seems there have been diesels stored there at some point.

And anything that looks old and worn out needs its picture taken!

Radford has several tracks on the back side of the yard that seem to catch all the stuff for storage....

I saw that string of EMDS back then, they were so sad, but resting there after YEARS of great service.....I sat in the cab of one, and just thought about all its miles and service....glad I took the chance then to explore it....even tho now I wouldnt.....
