At the bottom of the thread CPRR posted the wiki history of the place

1.  A view from the operator aisle.  As you can see, the tracks not only run in front of the hotel, they run right through it.

2. A view that no one quite sees with their naked eye.  I placed my iPhone as far into the scene as I could.  The (overhead) wire held me back. The blurry part of the image is an insulator and wire right in front of the lens.  Off in the distance, trying to hide behind a pole, you can see one of the ten Southern Pacific trailers Phil assembled from the SPH&TS kit.
