While I know the Athearn SD45 already has major flaws (to wide ect ect) Did any real SD45 have the 2 piece radators that the Athearn model has, or did all the prototype units have the 3 piece?

Every SD45 I've ever seen has had three radiators. That's not
saying there were non. Maybe the prototype or something had just
the two. Details West or Detail Associates has a replacement set
of radiators that work quite nicely.
