Passenger Trains > A few things plus Amtrak 145

I was out taking a ride this morning when I got down to Santa Ana I learned Surfliner 567 was now running 40 minutes late. Once aboard I learned that due to 250 kids boarding at Solana Beach and Oceanside that they were held ar CP Songs for over thirty minutes for that Metrolink Train. These poor kids lost over 30 minutes of educational time at the Mission today.

What plow? When I passed it (just about an hour before Mudrock) the plow and pilot had been removed and it looked like there were workers working around the damaged corner.

Yep, as I look closer in the last picture it is obvious that there is no pilot.

How do you know that this is NOT 3751 with some new streamlined cowling?

3751's a ways to the north of there! Anyway nice pics Chris!

Why is that engine parked out in a spare lot? Or is this the Amtrak engine house? Why did they tear out the facility at redondo?

Was going to ask that question too-- the Amtrak repair facility is still there, but the Redondo Jct roundhouse was torn down a few years back. I suspect it fell into disrepair and it was easier to knock it down than upgrade/repair it. Fortunately, SoCal weather makes working on equipment outside tolerable most of the time.

They may have trouble installing a Details West cast metal part, with California's strict environmental rules.

When I went by this morning the front of the unit had been masked off and black paint was being applied to the lower front part of the nose.
