Date: 06/12/16 07:24 Re: SW Chief Detour San Berdoo to LA Author: SCAX3401 I found Amtrak by using at the ATCS screen for the Cajon Subdivision. Its passing thru Keenbrook (just east of Devore at the base of Cajon Pass) so should be into San Bernardino within the next half hour or so.

Had literally 15 seconds to get this shot. She is flying down the San Gabriel Subdivision. Should make very good time to LA.

They get a pilot from Metrolink (Which is, of course, technically an Amtrak engineer). AsI understand it, the track is still not open therefore #4 is expected to detour this evening as well. Since Amtrak has the operating contract with Metrolink, those engineers are technically Amtrak engineers, and many are qualified on the San Gabriel Sub., but Amtrak would have needed to call someone off the extra board to run or pilot over the San Gabriel Sub.
