For anyone that uses Youtube
Author: Benched_it

Recently, probably starting in the last couple of weeks I get the following message when trying
to upload a video... "An error has occurred while sending data over the network. Please check your network connection
and try uploading again."... After refreshing a couple of times it works as usual. Just curious if anyone
else that uses Youtube has been experiencing this? Thanks!

Jay

It might not be you at all. We have no idea what some tech
may be doing at the other end of the line, or for that matter,
anywhere in between you and the destination host. As long
as the rest of the internet works, you're probably OK.

Maybe you needed a reboot (that tends to depend on the system,
with Windows hanging more often than others) or just simply
stopping the program and restarting will do it. On my system
(linux based), if I really have something hanging, I'd drop
out of the gui to the command line and then restart the gui.
Rebooting my box to fix a problem is extremely rare.

John.

We're long ways from the days of Windows 95/98/ME and MacOS 8-9 where memory protection was suspect so a machine would crash from relatively minor events. There should be ways to close the browser (or errant applications) without rebooting the machine for all modern operating systems - use the appropriate short cut keys or Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac OS X) for those who insist on GUI-and-click.

There have been YouTube-worthy global events (usually catastrophic) happening in recent weeks, the shootings, the truck, the coup, so I suspect YouTube servers are being overloaded, possibly causing connection problems on their end. There are network tools available on all operating systems to examine latency, routing, etc. which allow users to make an educated guess on what's going on without buying full blown diagnostic tools.

Be sure your internet browser is up to date.  Older versions may be a problem.
