The below listed link for Central Oregon & Pacific from the Genessee & Wyoming web page lists CORP as interchanging with Flat Iron Rail.  Is this the newly incorporated company that is trying to lease Yreka Western?

From what anyone can find it's basically the same people with a different name, don't think Hammond's
name is prominent in the new filing, though a search of the STB filings doesn't even list a Flat Iron rail filing.

Google Flat Iron Rail and scroll down and there is a link to the Federal Register with info about the Flat Iron Rail STB filing.
 

Couldn't find the filing, found the FD document, which is a decision document, two parties, no
conflicting testimony in this case, was to be consummated by 8/15, obviously not much done since.

I did find a list of companies recently incorporated in Colorado a few months ago, and it listed Flat Iron Rail as incorporated in July 2015. The STB filings for Flat Iron lists a John Knapp as the owner of Flat Iron Rail. John Knapp is an architect from Colorado and a long time business partner of Court Hammond. The STB fillings from Flat Iron were for a lease and operation excemption of the Yreka Western. The filing occured about a month after Flat Iron Rail Inc. was incorporated. 

 

You'd think, with the G&W connection now active, they'd at least do something to get the short segment
from Timber Products to the connection at Montague back in service.

Timber Products has said several times in the last few years that they are no longer interested in doing business with Court Hammond. If somebody else manages to come in and operate the YW that isn't associated with Court Hammond, Timber Products would want to ship by rail again.

Correct, and I would have thought that the Flatiron filing might have accomplished that.
