Date: 12/19/25 19:52 Re: New BNSF 3360 Units in Colorado 15 Dec 2025 Author: Android Yes these are basically Tier 3 ES44ACH units. But they fall under the Credit provisions of Tier 4... I guess WABTEC just doesn't run out of Credits.
And those specific units flipped over to the coal fleet really fast. Last night, BNSF 3361 and 3360 came into BTM as the lead units on ECRDBTM917 --> CBTMCRD068. Myself and my current trainee got to operate the train for the loading process. I showed my student the builder's sticker and explained to him what T4C meant. I'm sure these were the newest in-service units I've ever had, the days listed on the 203 daily cards added up to six. Kind of nice to not have any dirt on anything, fresh oil on the dipstick, no fogged window to see the coolant sight glass, no wear on the brake shoes. Nice to see that WABTEC delivers these with good old 350 Watt incandescent bulbs. ( off topic, but I've been on a few BNSF units that had been retrofitted with LED arrays and on high they are fine, but they are way too bright on the DIM setting, which is a design error IMHO) Date: 12/20/25 03:20 Re: New BNSF 3360 Units in Colorado 15 Dec 2025 Author: SOO6617 Android Wrote:

The big CPKC order with 100 Tier 4 locos and 70 more in 2026, would create more credits for Wabtec, which could be used for anybody to buy credit units. The credits are to the builder, not the railroad. It used to be with the early "Gevos" that if the Daily 203 cards showed 21 days or less you could be the recipient of a loco key. I got mine from the 4436 or the 4437 as they were back to back.
