Western Railroad Discussion > CNW Heritage Unit questionsDate: 09/18/05 15:33 CNW Heritage Unit questions Author: indyspy Here is a question that nags my mind. The CNW heritage unit. Are they going to equip the unit with the C&NW ATS system? I understand that all units have the newer UP Cab Signal system, but only a few select units still have the ATS shoes for use on some of the other CNW lines.
Let's hope that UP equips the CNW unit with ATS equipment for operation on the entire ex CNW system. What good is a CNW heritage unit without being able to lead it anywhere in CNW territory? Date: 09/18/05 18:34 for what it's worth...another unit to Horicon?? Author: chico off the yahoo illinirails list, for what it's worth:
Came east out of Clinton yesterday on a Lathrop Stack train. Chasing me all the way in (well more like crawling since thats all I did the whole trip in) was MCLPR. 2nd unit was the 8423. Did a little looksee in the comp and it shows that it was to be used in close to Chicago turnaround trips (CLPR, PRCL, Janesville trains...etc) until Sept 16. Then route to Horicon. Unit shows for MPRIT-18. That may change, who knows. Steve Date: 09/18/05 19:13 Re: for what it's worth...another unit to Horicon?? Author: indyspy That should be the DRGW unit... they should have nailed the last of the running DRGW units by then
