Railroad Mural in Riverbank, CA
Author: lynnpowell

There is a new mural on a building on Third St. in Riverbank, CA. The mural is on the west wall of the building, so it should be good for an afternoon photo. The mural depicts a train crossing the Stanislaus River bridge in Riverbank. There is only one problem! The one and only locomotive on the train is a UP SD90; the actual bridge carries the mainline of the BNSF! Yes, the UP does have trackage rights here, but for the Oakdale Local to reach Oakdale.

I wouldn't worry about the wrong rr being in the mural as the natives will have it tagged within the new month anyway.

I thought you were going to say it was an SP steam locomotive!

Actually it has been there for over a year, and as a "native" I wish I was consulted on what locomotive they used but oh well.

The OAKDALE local , probably would never use a SD 90 either.
