Western Railroad Discussion > UP 2002 headed to Portland

I just came over the pass, into LaGrand, Oregon and I spotted UP 2002 headed west, up the hill. It's probibly headed through the gourge tonight and into portland if anyone wants to track it down for a picture. Did these always have yellow numbers on the cab or is that a new addition?

this is the fourth time I have seen one of the olympic units. once in Nebraska, once near Fresno CA, and once in Pocatello ID. Why dont I ever have my camera ready???


by the way, most of the roads up here are clear now. I came up from the bay area wednesday night an barely made it over siskyou pass, then got stuck in medford, then had to take the long way around to get to Yakima to load this morning.

I really hate snow......

Quick trip. Saw it in Albina Yard, Portland, Ore. on Nov. 30 as part of three units being pulled out of the engine house area, headed for the yard to be hooked on a train.
