Did you take those south of town, down near where the highway goes over the tracks?

Think there's a beer store nearby.....

I took these shots on the north end of the yard, the end opposite the yard office. I think that's the north end? I have a ton more shots, when I get them scanned in, I'll post them.

Did you check out the CB&Q 4001 in the local park?

I got a nice afternoon shot of the steamer and the Grand Crossing Tower from down and west of them, turned out nice. Fall color trees framed it up nicely.

Seems like they were working on the interior of the old tower, gonna be restored some day, with a full train board and either levers or CTC knob controls?

Pat, if they restore the Grand Crossing tower interior to it's former configuration, it should be levers. IIRC, it was an armstrong tower.
The pictures look like they were taken up towards Onalaska rather than near the Gillette Street overpass near the yard office at the south end of the yard.
