CP Intermodal with Soo Caboose
Author: SPTunnelMotor

In my recent trips to Franklin Park, I have noticed a mid-afternoon intermodal train depart westbound out of Bensenville. The train has rated two GP38-2's each time and it is obviously a transfer because it has a Soo wide vision caboose on the end. I assume this is for a back up move? Can anyone out there provide more information as to what this move is? It's great to see a caboose these days and on an intermodal move to boot!

Here is the caboose passing the depot as an outbound Metra pulls in for its station work. Photo was taken yesterday.

Stefen:

The train you saw was CP assignment G41 which runs from Bensenville to NS Landers yard and return we go on duty at 0759 and return sometime before 1959, the caboose is used for the backup move from the CSX diamond at Forest Hill into Landers yard. Ed
