BNSF crews have been running some UP trains across the Transcon. Word is UP is out of crews.

I sure hope those BNSF crews handling the reroutes are enjoying UP's "ubiquitous" water buckets - who needs a working fridge when you can have the ol' white bucket to keep your coolies in - it just doesn't get any better than that! :O)

Plus the water buckets are made by Life Like the same people that made the proto 1000 & 2000 models.

This just baffles me. This has been an almost continuous problem on the UP. All of their "meltdowns", both mini and maxi, have been related in one way or another to crew shortages. What is so difficult about predicting the numbers of crews needed for a given territory? It just can't be that difficult.

For UP, anything small to them seems to be extremly difficult, and I bet BNSF is running these trains in a good and timely manner instead of them sitting on the Sunset for hours on end waiitng for a crew!

There is no crew shortage anywhere out west. Most of these reroutes are from either a derailment or MOW repair windows.
