Was the unit set out for some reason?

The unit has a bad traction motor and it will be changed out in the days to come to be returned to Roseville for futher repair. At this time the engine has been prepped for wheel change. It will be on the road by the end of the week.

The NS8705 had it's center traction motor change out today on the NCRY. The engine was lifted by a 250 ton crane and a straight axle was place under her so it can be operated to Roseville for final repair. The engine left the NCRY about 8:45PM Friday night. It created a pretty good show for those driving by with all the activity around this engine early this morning. With the shortage of engines on the UP at this time, they wasted no time doing the patch job to get this engine back for repairs so it can get back into service.
