I can't place the location of the shot with the rock fence on the left and what looks like a lake or large open area on the right. My two guesses would be Grass Lake or Klamath Lake.

I have to kind of go with Klamath Lake, somewhere between Modoc Point and Algoma southbound. Came home to Portland that way early Friday AM and saw almost no traffic at all. Caught the tail end of a NB going into the tunnel at Dorris and another crossing Salt Creek trestle on the bottom of the pass on 58. I did see a green block on Calimus but couldn't see the train. I took my camera on the trip hoping to catch something, and the battery was down when I tried to get the McCloud's two units leaving Mt.Shasta Friday. Charged the battery at the motel in Weed, but unfortunately never got a shot off the entire trip. :>( Butch,,,,,like the lens work Date: 02/20/06 12:34 Re: Some Shasta Pics Author: terry_n_85318 Is the last shot a Red over Lunar signal or Red over Yellow?

Does the lunar mean the siding is occupied by another train and you need to enter at resticted speed? Date: 02/20/06 14:34 Re: Some Shasta Pics Author: stretch It means to proceed at restricted speed. It does not necessarily mean that the siding is occupied. It could be that, or a broken rail. Now on TWC/ABS the lunar is a switch point indicator. When meeting a train in this type of territory it means that the switchpoints fit snuggly against the rail. If it was red you'd have to stop and line it by hand.
