Western Railroad Discussion > Rock Island Piggy -back RampDate: 06/11/06 06:31 Rock Island Piggy -back Ramp Author: sparkchaser To Yardclerk, I tried to ask you on your post if The Old Rock Island Ramp in Denver is being used. It was close to the Denver Airport. I was out there a couple of times in the 70`s to work on the lights. I was an electrician on the Rock Island. I would appricate hearing on this. Thank you.

Perhaps some of the Denver guys can answer this question for you. Yardclerk Date: 06/11/06 15:19 Re: Rock Island Piggy -back Ramp Author: tolland While some of the old Rock Island facilities in Denver are used by the Denver Rock Island Railroad shortline, I don't think the piggyback ramp exists any more. There are some businesses located near the east end of the track that could possibly occupy the location of this ramp. A portion of track was removed in the vicinity of I-70 and Quebec Street and it's possible that this ramp was located in this area. CO Zephyr could probably answer this question with a more definite answer.
