BNSF at speed
Author: mikey

1. A northbound Inside Gateway train reaches warp speed on the UP mainline near Lenz, Oregon.

2. A hot BNSF Z train speeds around the curves at the west (err... north) end of Bealville.

3. A westbound (err... northbound) BNSF train cuts through the fog coming off the loop at the east end of Woodford.

1. Another BNSF train uses the warp drive (run 8) to leave Emeryville and head back to Richmond.

2. The Riverbank local rolls east of Richmond at a moderate speeeed.

3. Another local approaches Emeryville, again at warp speed.

1 & 2. A BNSF stack train speeeeds through the sugar factory (as if the speed didn't make you feel wired enough) at Crockett, California.

3. A southbound with five hard-working SD40-2s sped through the cut at milepost 99.5 on the Gateway Sub as some stars in the sky sped towards the horizon.

Nice shots Mikey!
How did you get the stop action in this photo (the fourth photo, with the blue/yellow Santa Fe engines)? The locomotives are captured nicely, while the headlights left a trail. Was this done using a flash? Looks like you weren't all that close to the train for a flash to work...
Take care,
-Wes

I would guess the train was stationary when the shutter was opened, stayed stationary for a bit, and then pulled out before the shutter was closed. Nice work!
