Utah Heritage Week 1983, 1989, 1996
Author: SF5953

I am still among the slide shooters so it takes me a awhile to get my pictures back. I though some of you would like to see some of the pictures I got. All 3 Western road Heritage units found their way into the state of Utah during the week of October 21-29.

The first is UP 1983 on it's Western Pacific Rails on the west end of the Great Salt Lake. Taken October 21,2006

2nd is UP 1989 on its maiden voyage into Utah on the Rio Grande Main line just east of the former town of Thistle, Utah. The town was whipped out in 1983 by the mud slide that blocked the river and put a lake over the town. It shut down the Rio Grande main until the Thistle tunnel was made along with the line change. This picture is taken on that line change. Photo taken October 22, 2006

3rd is UP 1996 in Utah County operating the push pull operation life saver train with 1989 in Lehi, Utah. Location is on the former Rio Grande Main. Taken on October 26, 2006.

It was a fun week for us in the state.

Hope you Like
