Anyone have any idea where this long-lived bit of power is hanging out these days? TIA - Kit correction - current number is #1074. Date: 12/02/06 22:50 Re: UP GP38-2 1075 Photo Wanted Author: Evan_Werkema CimaScrambler Wrote:

I only have a roster of 3051, but Don Strack's site says 1075 started life as 3053. Date: 12/03/06 08:06 Re: UP GP38-2 1075 Photo Wanted Author: Grande-Fan Here is a shot of the DRGW 3051 and 3053. Still looking for a shot of it
in UP paint as a GP38-2(3), I might not have one. 2574 D&RGW 3051 Jan 1966 30995 9 Oct 1998 1075 26 Oct 2003 http://utahrails.net/all-time/all-time-38.php Nathan Z. Date: 12/03/06 14:13 Re: UP GP38-2 1075 Photo Wanted Author: CimaScrambler Evan_Werkema Wrote:

Thanks for correcting my error, Evan. I had written down 1075 as the current number for what was originally DRGW 3051, when I should have written 1074. What would we do without Don Strack's excellent database! At one time (1976) Athern used to make an HO-scale GP40 in the 3051 number. I used to sit on the porch at my sister's place in Sweetwater, Colorado, across the river from the tracks a couple of miles north of Dotsero and hope I would see it go by. I did see it at least once, but I never was able to get a photo of it. We pretty much ran the wheels off the model on her son's layout. - K |
