Here's a pair of SD70's with about 30 cars at the start of the Vasona Branch in San Jose. They are passing the switch and crossing by the hardwood floor company's spur over the VTA trolley car line. The spur's rails are rusty and I haven't seen a car on the spur for a year. I wonder how many cars went over the million dollar crossing?

I hope that company keeps getting cars. It would be nice if the last remnant of the Western Pacific in downtown SJ held on a little bit longer.

Looks better than it did at Guymon, Oklahoma a few years ago after hitting a lowboy with a new roadgrader on it.

The million dollar crossing you speak of is on (Auzerias?) between Lincoln and Sunol?

Somehow I think the VTA(taxpayers) probably picked up the tab in exchange for the at grade crossing of the UP.

Is that the spur into Floor Service Supply in San Jose? They used to receive pretty regularly a few years ago.

WOW what happened to these 2 locos...
hit a semi or just derail at speed.

Thankyou for the link.

I've wondered for the last nine or so months why this crossing would be so improved with only a hundred or so yards of overgrown track on the north end.

I still suppose we all paid for it.
