Western Railroad Discussion > ICE Over the RiverDate: 08/08/07 02:40 ICE Over the River Author: CNW8531 I can't turn the temperature down much from this recent heatwave that has covered the midwest, but I can throw some "ICE" your way if your in need of any. Try this "cool" IC&E four unit westbound train crossing the Mississippi River at Sabula, Iowa, on 7-21-07. The lead unit has obviously been recently repainted, but from what? This sure isn't a former CP unit. If any one can enlighten me as to the #6101's heritage, please do so. In the meantime keep cool and stay out of the heat if you can. I know I'll be home in the air-conditioning until the UP calls me back to work later on today.

What a fun time it was. Four E units up front and twenty or so cars and 79 mph running across Iowa and Illinois. We had the time of our lives and I can still remember it as if it happened yesterday.
