BNSF 4036 Chase on the Feather River Canyon

This weekend the family and I decided to head up to the Feather River Canyon, for our first time. The traffic was really slow at times, and that made us turn to Donner where the action was better.

But, as we were checking out the Canyon heading up to Portola, we passed the BNSF 4036 East around Poe. We beat him to Pulga, Rock Creek, Tobin, Honey Moon tunnels, Virgilia, and the crew change spot on the Highline.

He was a mixed manifest, 51 cars. Had BNSF 4036 leading, IC 6000, BNSF 6791, and BNSF 4986.

Enjoy!

Sounds like your trip was the opposite of mine. FRC was very busy during my 36 hours there, but Donner was very slow.

Steven....great series of shots, thanks for posting. I particularly like the Rock Creek trestle picture as buddy and I have camped in the small clearing above the east end of the trestle on a full moon night. Brings back some great memories of the area.
