The burned out portion of the U.P. bridge across the river in Colton just east of the BNSF main has been replaced by a new cement section. It's not conncted yet, with a little gap at each end, but it looks like quite a piece of work. If you're in that neck of the woods, you might want to give it a look. Later all.

I figured the Santa Ana Bridge was finished, for no other way for the units to reach that area, without a connection at old Riverside Jct or at the xing of the San Jacinto Line. Now a new mystery if the new bridge is not connected. Date: 05/30/02 21:56 Re: New Span At Colton Author: surflinerhogger I seem to recall that when this subject was broached awhile back, someone said that there were a couple of units and some cars isolated on the south side of the bridge somewhere. But when I went by it six times last week, the last being last Saturday, there was a definite gap between the old and new sections, on both ends.
