Thinking about buying one of those RAILCOM antennas. The model MHB5800. Anybody know about these?

Thanks.

Michael:
What exactly are you looking for?
A mobile antenna?
Magnet mount?
Permanent mount?
Base Antenna?
MHB5800 is a MaxRad VHF mobile antenna.
I do have MaxRad in stock, and can do a pretty good price, or so I like to think.
If you don't get the answers you are looking forward to here, Please email me and I can set you up.
I am a two-way dealer.

What Railcom sells is a basic 5/8’s wave Maxrad antenna. Railcom priced it about $30 above what you can buy it from a Maxrad distributor for. I have the Maxrad MHB 5800 and a Larsen LM150 5/8’s wave antenna. They both perform the same. They both come with a cutting chart that shows you the exact length the antenna needs to be cut for the VHF RR band. If it’s worth an extra $30 to you for Railcom to cut the antenna, then go ahead and spend your money. It’s simple to tune it yourself.

I have two of RAILCOM's antenna's (rubber duckie & mobile) and I think they're great and with my cheap Radio Shack 200 channel handheld scanner, they both seem to work quite well. Maybe it's overpriced as one of the members was saying, but if it is, why haven't other dealers surfaced before instead of right now with this posting ?

My mobile antenna works so well that I bought my brother one of each for last Christmas. Since RAILCOM is a railroad radio dealer & service center, why buy elsewhere ?
