Take a look at the uniforms. They had WHITE name tags on the shirts. The tag on the other side was black with GOLD "U. S. ARMY." The unit insignia was in bright bold colors. Rank was indicated by GOLD stripes on both arms and the uniform was a solid color. We were issued WHITE underwear. The solid color, Olive Drab uniforms were not all that bad but all of those other things "targets." White t-shirts at the neckline was like advertising, "Hey, Here I am." About the time these photos were taken, the camo type uniforms were being used in Viet Nam. Subdued rank and unit insignias were being phased in and rank was indicated by a small pin on the collar of the shirt.
