Despite all the yellow paint and only one real locomotive in the consist... the last one obviously. Date: 03/16/08 21:24 Re: Up the coast today Author: F40PHR231 Wow, that's a shot you don't see every day. Good one!
Date: 03/16/08 21:44 Re: Up the coast today Author: NscaleMike Where is this location?
Nice work btw... and what was the last unit you referenced? Date: 03/16/08 21:47 Re: Up the coast today Author: mapboy NscaleMike Wrote:
------------------------------------------------------- > Where is this location? Low tide at El Capitan State Beach (under the trestle), above Santa Barbara, CA. This is where US 101 turns inland for awhile. mapboy Edit- Senior moment- Gaviota, not El Capitan. I should remember, we camped at both! Date: 03/16/08 21:49 Re: Up the coast today Author: Josiah SP West or UP north of Gaviota. The rear of the train is passing the siding at Gaviota, Calif.
Josiah Date: 03/16/08 21:50 Re: Up the coast today Author: DRGW5502 Thanks Chris, not as good as your stuff though.
For the other question... There was an old SP SD40T-2 last out. Camera battery went dead before I could get off another shot. Date: 03/16/08 22:29 Re: Up the coast today Author: trainjunkie Neat location. I've never been lucky enough to catch a train at that spot when I was there except for one I was riding on. Here's a shot off the back of private car Tioga Pass on the back of #11 last Monday as we crossed the Gaviota trestle southbound at sunset.
Cheers! Mike Date: 03/17/08 16:57 Re: Up the coast today Author: ButteStBrakeman SanJoaquinEngr Wrote:
