Author: SoCalRailFan

UP just passed Iris and should be in Indio by 1230pm. Scheduled arrival at West Colton is 228pm, but that's been chanign every 15 minutes, moving it ahead from 250pm an hour ago. I'm out........

The Centennial special is sitting at Colton as I type this (2:10 p.m.). Looks like they are waiting for a BNSF at the diamonds... a friend of mine is checking them out right now. :-)

So the friend I was talking with via cell phone gave the 6936 a good look while they stopped at Colton . . . he noticed one of the number boards is gone! It's the right-hand side (if you're facing the engine nose). That must have happened somewhere between Texas and Arizona. What a bummer. Maybe the West Colton guys can rig something for the run up the Coast tomorrow.

Depart West Colton 06:00

Depart LATC 07:15

Depart San Luis Obispo 12:00 (noon)

Arrive Oakland 17:30 (5:30PM)

Since this train owns the RR, expect it on time or early. There does not seem to be any other traffic except Amtraks on the Coast Tuesday.

Does anyone know what time 6936 will depart Oakland Wednesday and what rout it will take to Roseville?

Are they stopping Metrolinks? Or will Metrolink be working around the special?

Martinez Subdivision.

The Cal P is the line that the Amtrak CAPITOL Corridor regularly uses (UPRR Martinez Subdivision).
This line runs thru Berkeley--Richmond--Martinez--Fairfield--DIXON--Davis.

You do NOT NOT want to be on Altamont Pass waiting on this special or you will miss it (UPRR Oakland Sub).

Although all that yellow would look great against the green hills of Altamont. I hope someone catches it at Niles Junction.

There is a piece of the Coast Line that it doesn't own - CP Lick to CP Coast here in San Jose. That is Caltrain territory, and there could be some minor delays as it gets threaded through the start of the afternoon commute. Capitol Corridor #542 and ACE #6 also head up the Coast line about the same time 6936 should be through San Jose if it is on schedule.
