Eclectic to say the least.

The hood would have looked better at the same height all the way across, but nobody considers "esthetics" anymore.

In another era, kind of like the Pennsy's Lima and Baldwin "Center Cab" Transfer units, or the CNJ's "Double-Ended" Commuter Cab Units.

Probably the same loco the Atomic Punk and I saw in a westbound UP train near Stanwix, AZ, a few weeks ago. Curiously, entrained about 2/3 way back, instead of right behind the working locomotives. Any reason for that?

I've heard nothing but good things about you, Sir, and I hope to get to meet you one day.

That is one heckuva' FIRST CLASS operation you run down there.

Sure beets the days of the "one from each road" days under the old dilapidated open air shed (it IS gone now isn't it?).

Thanks (as always) for your input here on TO,

I had read the the PHL 80 does not have dynamic brakes. It just shares the same carbody as units with dynamics.

They must have taken lessons from UP and their SW10 rebuilds.

Higher hood is required for the steam heat boiler.
