Pueblo Railway Museum Happenings
Author: grande473

The Pueblo Railway Museum will use its former Colorado & Wymong GP7 102, ``The Patriot'' for its July 4 train rides. The locomotive, painted in a Bicentennial scheme that once adorned sister engine 101, will pull a two-caboose train from the museum to the Aquila Power Plant and return, about one mile.
In addition to the train rides speeder cars will operate. The Museum is combining its monthly speeder and Spaghetti lunch fund raiser with the July 4 event.
The June speeder rides will be June 7, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The Museum is now considered a non-insular railroad by the Federal Railroad Administration, due to a physical connection with the BNSF yard. Bob Dandurand is the liason with the FRA, meaning he is the paper pusher.
The Heritage Day runs on May 17 were not successful. The vent was supposed to have been held in conjunction with Heritage by the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center, located across the street, but that museum cancelled its event. That, plus an open cockpit day at the Weisbord Air Museum, cut into the train riders.
The museum will not have Heritage Days next year.
