Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Emporia-WellingtonDate: 05/28/08 16:36 BNSF Emporia-Wellington Author: Z-WSPLAC1 Hi,
How is BNSF sending trains between these two locations? How many trains per day on average are there through Matfield Green? Through Witchita? Which line see's the eastbounds? Westbounds? Do they ever send trains against the current? Thank you, Andy R Date: 05/28/08 17:43 Re: BNSF Emporia-Wellington Author: Dick Last I heard, about 15 - 20 eastbounds off the Transcon via Wichita plus usual scheduled trains on that line. The remaining 60 or so, count will vary, via the cut-off. Most or all (not sure of which) Z trains take the cut-off in both directions.
Dick Eisfeller Big "E" Productions Date: 05/28/08 21:25 Re: BNSF Emporia-Wellington Author: BNSFDS All eastbounds off of the Transcon and the Texas line (except the hot Z trains) go via the Ark City and La Junta Subs through Wichita and Newton.
Westbounds normally go on the Emporia Sub via Matfield Green and Augusta. There are regularly scheduled trains that run against the flow on the Arkansas City Sub, i.e. the MNEWSAG, grain trains, and locals. On average, Wichita sees around 30 to 35 trains per day, Matfield Green sees a little more. BNSFDS |
