Why I like locals
Author: pdt

Not as nice as the GP-30's and GP-35's on the BNSF locals,
but as interesting a lashup as we get on the Central Calif Coast....

Santa Margarita local Northbound, at East Garrison.

1386 is extremely very dead. At least the horn and the control stand worked.
791...Ex Mopac without D/B's and an RC unit.
1448...DRGW GP-40.

They had 17 cars, 80 axles, which is a lot for the margarita.

Definitely a very "UP Local" lashup of today. We see similar mixed bag paint schemes on the El Segundo and Torrance jobs too, though we haven't had a Rio Grande in a while.

Good catch, Beth!

Haven't been in South Bay or South Central for a while....gland you're getting
some variety. I miss the days of 1 or 2 cruds on a local, although I hated
them when they replaced the S-6's

Thx for the comments...beth
