While rummaging through the storage drive looking for a completely different image, this shot from last year at Silverwood (BNSF Cajon Sub MP 56.6) of a three unit westbound commencing its decent down the 3% gradient of the South Track caught my eye. The comparison shot is just nine days shy of a year later, and portrays another westbound, this time descending the hill atop the new Main 1 down to CP Walker.

TCS - nothing scheduled for koda's visit

The tracks where Mac shot and I was at too last month is done, all they got left is connectin' the track from Cajon-Keenbrook!

Uhmm nope, CP Waler to Cajon isn't done yet. Those tracks in the pics have been done for many months (tunnel removal aside).

Last Sunday they were surfacing Main 2 around where the tunnels used to be...could be double track very soon between Silverwood and Walker.

Would that be a siding?

It's been too long since I've drove over to Silverwood.

That track is a cutover to UPs palmdale cutoff to West Colton from Yermo yard east of Barstow.

They unloaded a 40 car ballast train on the new main 1 above Keenbrook yesterday. Look for main 2 between Silverwood and Walker to be open by this weekend.

Does anyone have or know where to see a track diagram showing the new track layout with crossovers, and etc. between Cajon and Summit?
