Western Railroad Discussion > Peoria & Western Fs operations?

It occurs to me that while I'm in southeastern Iowa, I might want to hop over into Illinois and chase the Peoria & Western FP7s -- if they're running -- on Friday. Anyone got any tips?

General operations for the P&W have them running west from Mapleton on Monday and Thursday AM. Another crew will meet them enroute to bring the train back to Mapleton and usually make the TZPR interchange that same PM. As a heads up, they are now using a GP, PREX 800, with the two FP9s. The FP9's lead westbound, but the geep leads eastbound. Of course, things can change if there is a UP coal train bound for the powerplant near Canton. If so, the P&W will leave their train west of the powerplant switch near Canton.
