If it turns out as well as La Posada, it will be a jewel. I have stayed at La Posada twice and it is a wonderful experience. The Turquoise Room restaurant (serving all meals) is first-rate.....and BNSF trains (mostly stack) are going by every five minutes.

At least in Laughlin just up the road and even in beautiful downtown Kingman or Oatman there are things to do.

I think its the last Harvey House until Barstow, so marketing it with a US 66 theme could make a lot of sense. Gonna be tough marketing it in August with the temperature about 110 in the afternoon. Hope they have a really big, and really cold, pool. Date: 03/08/13 14:56 Re: Needles, CA, Harvey House Author: rbenko Reviving an old, old thread. Seems like the El Garces hotel renovation is still just a dream. Haven't been through Needles in a long while (I live in NYC), so I've been looking online for some info about the renovations. The main website for the hotel is down and/or gone, and all I have been able to discover are some pics from last May:
http://www.westcoastrailforums.com/thread-6337.html As of that date, it was still just a shell. Anyone have any further news? Rob Benkovitz New York, NY Date: 03/09/13 18:57 Re: Needles, CA, Harvey House Author: rbenko Anyone? Bueller??

Exactly my point above - the link is dead (original post with link was posted almost 5 years ago), and I can't seem to find any updated information. |
