Recently in God's Country.........

Also known as Tyler Texas. I almost got choked up when I saw another Colorado transplant sitting in the Tyler Yard. It's name was 093. 093 was a former Rio Grande crane with a boom tender. Now it's in northeast Texas still working for UP just as it was designed to do for the Rio Grande in Colorado, or maybe Utah. There were also three locomotives waiting for something to do probably tomorrow after today's MLK Holiday was over with.

Here's a quick "snap shot that I had little enough time to get set up for. Still, I thought that it was a neat shot sort of, and it's taken from a location that I probably couldn't get away with as far as sitting there waiting for the right picture taking opportunity to come along. I wish that I could have gotten more of the underpass bridge to the right included in this view. Just out of the picture behind the obstruction, "COTTON BELT ROUTE" is still stenciled on the eastbound lanes side. On the other side of the underpass above the westbound lanes of Front Street is UP's logo painted on the underpass bridge's frame side.

At least the weather looks a LOT better in Tyler than back here in Indiana.

Not a crane. The 093 is a pile driver and way too far from home!!

Take a stroll through the Tyler Jr College campus, and you will
see why Tyler is indeed God's country.

Thanks for the crane/pile driver photos--I'm a long-time work equipment fan--the first rail photos I ever took were of Pacific Electric steam derrick 00194 in 1951. And one of my most memorable rail experiences was the first time I operated ex-LARy electric derrick 9225 at Orange Empire.
