Did the KCS have any trouble today?
Author: xtra1188w

On the way back to Tyler from Longview Texas this afternoon a friend and I went back thru Big Sandy to see if anything was going on. There was a southbound sitting at the crew change site in BS with two gray KCS units on the point. Not long after we got set up under our favorite shade tree this train got underway. This time instead of continuing south on the Cotton Belt it switched over to the T&P mainline and headed west towards Dallas. This was an exceptionally short train of all UPS trailers piggybacked. I have never seen a train like this before on the UP, and since the two engines were clean gray ones from the KCS I wondered whether this might be a KCS detouring over UP. What does anyone else reckon here?

UP train ZDUMQ 02. 12 cars - 1,556 ft. That KCS set has been running around on the UP system for the better part of two weeks.
