MRL after the tunnel opening.... FBE
Author: jc76

It must be the MRL is back bustling with activity as there have been no more updates. I believe FBE mentioned there would be no tunnel windows this week to allow the MRL to catch up. Does FBE or anyone else no if this has held true? weather looks good at the end of the week for rail-fanning...

Yes, the tunnel is open and there are no windows to contend with. Skies have been muddy and overcast with some rain but that is now clearing out.

All of that and traffic coming through from the BNSF has been just a trickle. Yesterday was only 3 or 4 trains total. Today's line up was closer to a dozen or so total but I expect some of those have fallen off per usual.

Traffic should be back to normal soon, come on up.

Checking the lineups a bit ago showed there were perhaps 5 east and 5 west trains to run over the pass today. Tomorrow's line ups show 10 trains west and 8 trains east through the tunnel with an ML and LM pair as well.

Just spoke with a friend in Sandpoint who described some big time windows for the bridge rebuild. He had a laundry list of action going on, maybe somebody can commit times or days to ether.

Lots of action on either side of the bridge though. The funnel and everything that leads into it has always been a great show.

Sounds like a good long weekend to head up.... have the Centrailia trains returned yet? Thanks for all the info.

<<have the Centrailia trains returned yet?<<

The Centrailias never left. It was the Boardmans and Roberts Banks that hadn't run. Both of those destinations started up this week. Grain is slow.

BTW, MILW 36A (E-unit), using reporting marks MRL 36, was in Seattle last night and is headed for Livingston.
