UP's MSCAN at Buena Vista
Author: GrandeGold

Union Pacific's daily Salt Lake City to Arden (Las Vegas) manifest begins it's long westward journey at Buena Vista, Utah. CP C779 is the east end of first passing siding west of Salt Lake City on the Salt Lake Subdivision. Buena Vista is Spanish for 'pleasant view' and the name is a good descriptor of visage of the Wasatch Front to the east. Here the train crosses Gladiola Street directly under the north-south flight path of Salt Lake International Airport. This pleasant view might also include viewing the tail feathers of jets like Southwest, Delta, American, and United airlines to name a few.
