Western Railroad Discussion > Those BNSF TV adsDate: 01/15/10 10:19 Those BNSF TV ads Author: 1372 I appreciate BNSF putting itself out for a railroad-unconscious public with its nice new TV ads, but wonder why, spending all that money, they couldn't be bothered to assemble uniform BNSF locomotive sets! I guess the "whatever" generation has reached the top. Oh well, B for effort, and A for getting the message out. Kurt.
Date: 01/15/10 11:16 Re: Those BNSF TV ads Author: galenadiv I think the reason is that no one outside of a handful of railfans would care in the slightest about matching locomotive sets, or even notice the difference if things could be miraculously changed by tomorrow.

Mr. MRL - Haven't seen the adds yet Date: 01/15/10 14:08 Re: Those BNSF TV ads Author: papio Haven't seen any either. Are they running on any particular network or specific region?

I have not seen them anywhere else. UP used to run their ads on CBS Sunday Morning and I believe CSX did also, though I have not seen their ads for awhile. C. I HAVE seen the CSX commercials for some time, and for a while it seemed they were on during every break. It has to be a regional thing, as I'm in central PA, and NS is huge for the economy in Altoona, Cresson, Lewistown, etc. It only makes sense that the local TV stations would broadcast them, instead of others.

They had the animated gas cans sitting on a bank watching the train pass which I thought was rather clever. Not at all the serious heavy institutional ads that UP and BNSF have run. C. Carol Voss Bakersfield, CA Date: 01/15/10 17:37 Re: Those BNSF TV ads Author: mapboy What do you mean by uniform sets? Were they different paint schemes, or just different locomotive models? Or facing different directions?
mapboy Date: 01/15/10 17:47 Re: Those BNSF TV ads Author: swsf Is this the TV ad? It's on the BNSF website. Unfortunately, the window in plays in is very small.

Corporate pride. Would UPS feature dirty trucks in their ads? Dirty, mismatched power is real world, but advertising isn't about showing the real world. -Justin Date: 01/15/10 21:53 Re: Those BNSF TV ads Author: DRGW5502 theironhorse Wrote:
