OMLX 3011, ex-DRGW GP-30 3011 on BNSF at Denver

Omnitrax (OMLX) lettered 3011, former Denver & Rio Grande Western RR GP-30 3011 rolled south on BNSF’s Front Range Subdivision into Denver on Feb. 12, 2003. It was noted at Fox Junction on the BNSF Rennix Yard side. The badly cannibalized GP-30 was dead in consist on BNSF’s Laurel, MT, to Denver train. I’d guess this is the unit is headed for the Colorado Railroad Museum at Golden, CO.

I had that BNSF had refused to haul the 3011. Will it need to be trucked to the Coors yard from the Denver area?

BNSF moved it from the interchange point down to their yard. It came down the BNSF Front Range Sub. It will be added, I am assuming, to the Coors train and taken to Golden sometime soon, from there it will have to be trucked into the museum.

The problems that BNSF had about moving the engine were solved a few weeks ago.
