New Locomotive

Today in the Union Pacific yard in The Dalles, Oregon I saw a new lease unit/demonstator painted in the Union Pacific colors but marked LLMX. The number was 2211.

Because of the location in relation to the road I was driving on, I was unable to pull over and take a picture. I will try to do that another day.

Does anyone know anything about this motive unit? It's a big SD, but beyond that I could not tell anything.

I think it is a GP38. There were 2 of them there for a while. I saw one heading east last Saturday.

I believe its an exCN predessor road, DT&I or GT GP38-2 painted like UP, but lettered for Locomotive Leasing Partners.

The LLPX 2252 I used last night was a former LIRR GP38-2 rebuilt by CN. It was parked out of service for some time on the St.L&A. Best rebuild I have ever used.
