RBBB blue unit routing to Oakland - question
Author: railhiss

I'm going to try to chase the RBBB blue unit out of Anaheim on Monday. A previous post from a few days ago indicated that the train would go over Tehachapi. Would the routing most likely be over Cajon via the Palmdale cutoff, or Soledad Canyon? Would the train be leaving Anaheim in the morning or later in the day? Any information would be helpful.

Thank you

It might take the Coast Line but I'm not sure at all. I hope it goes up Cajon though!

The Anaheim departure time is based off of UP's call time for the RBBX Blue Unit train. It is not know how long it will take the two sections of circus train to be put together and be on the move North to West Colton. The rest are my estimates based on chasing/following the inner-California RBBX trains between SoCal and Oakland over the last 8 years.

Based on mandatory animal water stops (sometimes longer than 1 hour) and all of the other RR factors thrown in with this special move train, exact arrival times are VERY subject to change.

Thanks, espeeboy, for the info. Sounds like I'd better get an early start on Monday.
