BNSF Northtown Yard - Minneapolis, MN
Author: NW1814

Is there safe public access around said yard/terminal to overlook the yard without being harassed by the local public safety? What are the frequencies and uses in the area. Might be going to Mall Of America and figured it might be worth trying to convince them. Also: is the Minnesota Commercial in the area and are their ALCo's out still or whats their status, I forgot the models, I seen them mentioned about in the most recent Trains: Locomotive Special Edition magazine. Thanks for all help received.

44th St. Overbridge is just north of the diesel shop, many photos that have appeared on Trainorders have been taken from the bridge. Don't park in the employee lot on the west end of the bridge, park on public streets off the east end of the bridge. I have never been hassled while on the bridge.

D'Ya mean one of these? Took this pic today, about 5 miles from Northtown, at Raymond Ave. I drive by there twice a day.

It ain't steam, but I think it is an Alco. RS-27, maybe?

They've got some elderly, but not archaic, GE's, too. Hard to tell 'em apart - all diesels look alike.
