What are these solar panels used for? Each hopper has one.

they are used to supply elec. power so a section man can dump them by remote control.

It trickle charges the batteries that powers up the electric hydraulic pump for the doors.

Or by toggle switches located in a small gray box located on the side almost directly above the left wheel and to the right of ladder in the picture.

The small gray box is mounted to the big battery box and it has two gray boxes, one on each side.
