Would like update on Signal Peak Mine
Author: Dick

How is the approximately one year old Signal Peak Coal Mine in the Bull Mountains of Montana off a spur from Broadview on the BNSF Laurel to Great Fall line doing these days. About how many trains a week is it shipping and are most of these going to power plants in the East or to Roberts Bank for export in the West.

Over the next 4 days, there should be 8 inbound empties, coming from multiple directions. And it looks like an average of 2 outbound loads each day, also going different directions. Quite a few loads are destined to Roberts Bank via the MRL.

As far as coal trains on the highline, most are from the PRB (Spring Creek Mine) going to Roberts Bank. The Signal Peak trains mostly depart to the south, via Laurel.
