Hello, I have some questions about train identification. I'll use an example to get to the point.

Example: Union Pacific 1995 (CNW unit) departed Nplaeast December 27th at 7:23am on train "QNPSKP 27"

I know that NP is North Platte, but No idea what the rest of the letters are in that scramble. I assume 27 is the train number, but what is SKP? Q? Is there a website I can find this information, and what direction the train is moving?

BTW, The example is a true scenario.

27 - (departure) 27th of the month

Excellent! This is what I have been looking for. Where Might I get a timetable like the one you are referring to? I assume it's not online....

Except that SK in this case is probably Selkirk, NY on CSX.
