Author: DocJones I'm just visiting here in Florence MT (outside Missoula) but I've heard there is no traffic on the Montana Rail Link line through Missoula to Darby. I'm not familiar with the subdivision name/number so I hope this is enough info for me to get some help.

With a 5 AM departure westbound from Missoula I'd guess it leaves Pipeline for Missoula eastbound earlier than in years past (think it was around 11:00) which would make for better sun angles. Author: fbe The 4308 and 382 were doing fuel testing on the ML/LM but that is over so they may be back. I have not been down in the heat to check things out. For a while the MRL 403 and MRL 261 were on the gas but I was out of town for those. It will be the 348 and 4312 when the SD45 gets back from Tacoma.

Author: fbe Traffic has been declining especially on the Polson. High water in the spring caused row damage to both lines which may not be economic to repair.
There are no plans to abandon the lines. MRL still owns the branches to Phillipsburg and Twin Bridges with rails intact. Darby and Polson will probably achieve this status.
