How many depots and who were they? Who is the one across from the BN yard?

The NP depot is mostly restored at the north side of the yard. The GN depot is up the hill from there just west of the old GN round house with the large goat herald. The original MILW depot with the tower is now the KXLF tv station, the replacement is a single story building on the fill on the south side of the interstate. The BA&P has been bulldozed. The UP used the NP depot. Deer Lodge has both the MILW and NP depots and the BA&P depot and general office building.

Edit :
Well some of the original post got truncated. Yes, the extant BA&P depot and general office are in Anaconda. The depot is a lumber yard, the office is white. The round house is standing but you will need permission to visit that.

Happy hunting.

The Butte, Anaconda & Pacific office building and depot is in Anaconda which is located in Deer Lodge County. The town of Deer Lodge, in Powell County, has the Milwaukee Road Depot as well as a Little Joe on display.

And an E9. And a caboose. And a block signal. And some catenary upside down.

The Milw Deer Lodge depot is still extant but it is not part of the display and is in use for a different purpose.

Best regards,

Could you please explain that statement? This photo seems to indicate that it is correctly assembled.

The MILW depot is a church, the NP depot is the Senior Center.

In a private e-mail I was reminded of this,

"you should also mention the joint NP-BAP depot from Durant is at the Museum of Mining"
