Western Railroad Discussion > Next "Heritage" Railroad BNSF or CSX?

Well, since NS is the latest railroad to paint up "Heritage" units, which railroad would you
like to follow suit? BNSF or CSX? We all know what BNSF could do:

ATSF old Blue & Yellow
ATSF Yelow "Current"
ATSF old Warbonnet (small lettering)
SP&S Yellow and Black
NP Black
GN Sky Blue
GN Orange & Green
Frisco Red and White
CB&Q Silver and Black
BN Green
SPSF Black and Yellow (We could dream, can't we?)
Others??

CSX:

Seaboard Coast Line
Seaboard Air Line
Seaboard System
Chessie System
B&O
C&O
WM
Atlanta & West Point
Atlantic Coast Line
L&N
Durham & Southern
Georgia Railroad
Western Railway of Alabama
Clinchfield (Or did NS do one?)
Monongahela


Just curious what people would want to see.

I think anybody would want any of those schemes. BNSF has basicly flat out said they arent going to do any heritage type schemes. Maybe someday.

Maybe CSX will do it and then BNSF will be the only one that didn't want to participate.

BNSF has plenty of heritage units.

BNSF HAS no class period.....so go figure! And to think, I use to hate Union Pacific!

I bet you the fine folks that run 4449 and 3751 would tend to disagree with that.

Or at least the fine folks that run 4449 and 261. 3751 doesn't get to get out much. I think she got off on the wrong foot with AT&SF and the well has been sour ever since.

Clinchfield would go under CSX.

IF BNSF paints any heritage units I'll eat my hat! Not in your lifetime. CSX, maybe?

Sorry but I'll go with NEITHER! BNSF doesn't want to and wont, CSX seems leaneant (spell check?) on keeping units dirty, so no thanks here.

BNSF does have heritage units. It's the ATSF and BN original painted units still active on the roster you see everyday :)

Yeah, but it will be nice to see the old colors (blue and yellow, BN green) painted on an SD70Ace !

What about BNSF's "Heritage 1" and "Heritage 2" schemes? ;)

Takes a lot of money to paint a unit..don't upset my monthly
retirement check...

How could you not have a BNSF Heritage unit in CB&Q Chinese Red.
